Current News and OffersFederal Trade Commission Forcing Companies to Improve SecurityThe Federal Trade Commission has taken moves against companies that have leaked sensitive data onto Peer to Peer networks. As reported by ComputerWorld they have notified 100 companies of the potential violations. They have followed up with what amounts to a federal subpoena in requests for detailed information about what data is stored, how the data is used, and all servers that host the data, according to a NetworkWorld article on the subject.Now, in addition to SOX related activities the FTC may also be examining companies internal security processes and procedures.
